Scarlet Empyre is an ode to children of immigrants and blue-collar workers everywhere. Inspired by Fatima Ouassak’s book “Pour une écologie pirate” (For a Pirate Ecology), it’s a nod to those who went out to sea in quest of freedom, whose children are the rising tide against the status quo.

They don’t simply want to be tolerated: they want to be seen, heard and taken seriously.
